At Fassina, we take pride in showcasing exceptional wines, and this April, we’re featuring the Two Hands Gnarly Dudes Shiraz as our Wine of the Month.

A Tribute to Barossa’s Old Vines

Sourced from mature vineyards in the Barossa Valley, the Gnarly Dudes Shiraz reflects the region’s rich viticultural heritage. The name “Gnarly Dudes” pays homage to the gnarled, old Shiraz vines that consistently produce high-quality fruit.

Tasting Profile

This Shiraz presents a deep, strong black hue. On the nose, it offers lifted and intense aromas of bay leaf, dark berries, licorice, cassis, violet, and plum. The palate is rich and powerful, delivering layers of spicy dark fruit flavors. The tannins are well-structured, providing a persistent and balanced finish.

Winemaking Craftsmanship

The winemaking process involves fermentation in open-top vessels with regular pump-overs to extract optimal flavors and tannins. Post-fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 15% new oak and the remainder in seasoned puncheons and hogsheads.
