A Tribute to Mount Barker’s Distinguished Sites

Grown on the western slopes of Mount Barker, the B&V Vineyard was planted in 1992, chosen for its remarkable similarity to the famed Hermitage region of France. With micaceous schist soils and a cool climate, it produces Syrah of exceptional character, showcasing the site’s unique heritage.

Tasting Profile

The 2021 Tapanappa B&V Vineyard Syrah bursts with aromas of ripe satsuma plums, blackberry, and hints of cedar and fresh leather. On the palate, you’ll find vibrant dark fruits, subtle spice, and a rounded tannin finish, all wrapped in the freshness of a cool vintage. It’s medium-bodied, aromatic, and brimming with energy.

Winemaking Craftsmanship

Hand-harvested and fermented in small open-top fermenters, this Syrah was carefully hand-plunged over three weeks, gently pressed, and aged in seasoned French barriques. The result is a refined, pure expression of Syrah, balancing richness with remarkable finesse.
